I went to Keuken last 30th of September with my fellows. It is the third Keuken (second was in Saparua, the first.. umm.. let me google it.. oh yes, it was in Cikapundung!) and the second I visited. “Keuken” is a Dutch word means “kitchen”. Funny, I thought it was a Sundanese word because it has “eu” in the word.

Keuken is a food festival. No, the food and beverages there are not cheap. But they offer something you can not always found in ordinary food festivals. Here are some photos from Marchy, Ari, and Aul’s cameras. Some of them taken by them and some of them by me.

To get the maximum benefit, the girls and I shared our menu. So I get many food and beverages with lower price. Some bits of the food I remember: red velvet cake, lemonade, burritos, bola ketan, es kering, keripik kribo, mie merapi for about 40.000 rupiahs…………… hahahahaha. Lucky the girls want to share their food together.

The event was SO CROWDED and the tables was full. It is lucky to get one table (finally) for us. It was so hard to walk and see the tenants. I hope the next event will be better/

Hello.

According to my blog statistics, my post about Line Messenger has the most visits of all. Line has been a very nice messenger with almost no bugs and adorable stickers.

I recently buy new sticker from my senior, Kak Atin, but I haven’t paid her! She bought it directly from the apps and then she sent this as a gift to me. It cost about $1,99 or Rp20.000,00. To buy it directly, you have to own a Google Wallet account and sync it with your credit card, which is still unusual to Indonesians, who prefer cash.

So, this is Waroo. Her description on Line is “Waroo may act timid and but she gets her point across!“. Grammatically incorrect, lol. But since Waroo has similar features and timid like me, I already fell in love with this stickers the first time I saw it.

Last August 15th, my pretty junior-high-school-friend Fanny Octa Febrina had her thesis defense and got her S.Mn (Bachelor of Management) degree. We (our 3E girls clique) came to SBM and surprised her. These photos taken by Irfandie from my camera.

Two things I realized when finishing Lolita for the second time yesterday: first, I was really really really innocent the first time I read this book. Second, you will never really hate someone if you had read their thoughts and views (remind me of Atticus Finch’s quote!)

The story? Well, it’s about Humbert Humbert, a man who sees Annabel, his very first love, in Dolores Haze, a nymphet. I agree with those who say that Lolita is “a story about the exploitation of a weak adult by a corrupt child, and not the corruption of an innocent child by a cunning adult”. Maybe because Nabokov told the story first-person, and he never give us any of Dolores/Lolita’s view. We’ll never know how sweet Lolita was, but you will hate the Lolita character instantly.

So, now I understand the whole story. I can’t say I liked it, but I will say that it gives me an unusual experience. Mixed language (with french); how Humbert Humbert always change to Humbird, Humburg, and else; the Humbert-wrote-it-while-waiting-for-the-execution format; and many more.

After all, it’s a classic. You should read it for the sake of experience.

Today I watched Wreck-it Ralph, which very good, at Blitzmegaplex. I usually don’t watch here, because it is far from campus and more exprensive than the other. But since Wreck-it Ralph is defeated by a movie about a s*x-thirsty-newborn-sparkly-vampire (5 of 8 studios are theirs! and none of them is Wreck-it Ralph), we have to watch this here.

I already know that Breaking Dawn is not showing there, but I still laughed at this announcement.

Lagu menghipnotis berjudul Berlin dari The Trees and The Wild di atas saya temukan berkat teknologi shuffle. Setelah melihat musik di last.fm ternyata berputar di sekitar situ saja, saya menenggelamkan diri (ceile) di dalam pustaka musik di Phoenix, sang laptop. Berbagai metode pun digunakan, di antaranya:

1. Menyortir daftar lagu berdasarkan jumlah main. Beberapa lagu memang tidak dapat ditinggalkan begitu saja, karena memang sudah merasuk ke sanubari begitu dalam (naon). Namun ternyata, banyak emas-emas terpendam di dalam lautan lagu-yang-tidak-pernah-dimainkan.
2. Menggunakan metode acak alias shuffle dalam daftar putar seluruh pustaka. Selama ini, saya hanya memutar lagu yang ada di daftar putar alias playlist. Ternyata hal itu mempersempit wawasan, saudara-saudara!
3. Membuat daftar putar hanya dari lagu-lagu yang tidak pernah dimainkan.

Beberapa lagu yang menjadi emas-emas terpendam adalah milik The Submarines, Sonic Youth, Psapp, The Hush Sound, dan Sergio Mendes. Last.fm pun tidak membosankan lagi. Haha. Entah mengapa mood pun terasa lebih baik. Yeahhhhhhhh.

My mind is so full of thoughts now and I think I’m going to explode if I don’t write it down. Problems seems everywhere and the main reason it happened is –tadadadadadaadadadam– me.

It’s me who can not do time management.

It’s me who always being selfish, whiny, self-centered-person-who-thinks-the-world-is-revolves-around-me, ugly, unattractive, not confident, boring, quiet, introvert, anything myself hate, and at the same time asking myself to always think positive.

It’s me who can not be a good daughter.

It’s me who always questioning Him, why this why that why why why why why.

It’s me who always think that I am cursed, but I can not think about that because I remember the Quran verse about how He act like our prejudice, but I see the life I am living now, and I keep thinking about how I am cursed, and so on. Full circle.

It’s me who have strong principle not to be a reacher but nothing came and I don’t know what to do. Should I wait? Should I reach? Is it fate? I am asking the same question for years, and it never answered. I am tired. I know the word ikhtiar but when you don’t know what to reach and what to chase, you will be lost. I never got my answer. I want my answer…….. Is it that hard? What if there are none? What if I shall be one forever? What if he is not the one?

It’s me who confused about my future. I want to get as much money as I can, of course. So I can make my family worry about what they really need no more. I want them to be happy. But I hate if I have to be another slave. Another person who do the job she doesn’t love and surrender to reality that she has to love what she have. Another person who spent 2 months of a year on the street. But I need to travel around the world. It’s my dream, the biggest one. I need to see the world as wide as possible. Therefore, I need money. But I want to give value as much as I can to humanity. To the world. I don’t think I can do it if I am being a corporate slave. Fuck the system.

I have to write much more to make myself calm.. Don’t worry, I am calm now. My definition of calm is calm at the outside and inside. I am not calm inside now. Not in my mind.

Jadi saya dan teman-teman ke sini tanggal 15 Agustus 2012, setelah mendatangi sidang Fanny. Rocca ini letaknya di jalan gaul penuh kafe unyu agak dadakan alias di Jalan Progo no 16 Bandung. Suasana dan interior dari restoran ini nyaman banget, penuh kayu-kayuan dan bata. Bangunannya juga dibatasi dengan kaca sehingga kita masih bisa melihat ke arah luar (walaupun isinya mobil-mobil doang sih haha).

Terdapat beberapa pilihan tempat, ada yang di sebelah kaca seperti gambar di bawah, di dalam yang ala cafe-cafe dengan sofa empuk, ada yang dalam meeting room, dan ada juga di daerah belakang yang lebih luas. Secara keseluruhan, interiornya bikin ngerasa nyaman dan homy.

Soal makanan? Ada western dan asian cuisine. Harganya bervariasi, tapi bagi saya ini tergolong restoran untuk mamacan/mamajel alias makan-makan cantik/makan-makan jelek alias bukan buat tiap hari. HAHAH. Jadi harga makanannya di atas Rp 20.000 dengan porsi yang super kenyang!

Salah satu resolusi saya adalah mencoba Thai Tea di setiap restoran. Kalo tidak salah, harganya sekitar Rp 21.000 alias IDR 21 layaknya harga makanan di mal Jakarta. Gelasnya gede banget dan isinya juga banyak. Kenyang alias wareg!

Ini Chicken Kiev seharga Rp 36000 pesanan teman saya. Semacam cordon bleu dengan sayur dan kentang yang patut dicoba.

Kalo ini pesanan saya Fish and Chips (Rp38000 kalo ga salah). Porsinya super buanyaaaaak sekali. Enak banget pula ditambah dengan mayonesnya. Kenyaaaang :9 Recommended!

Summer Cake dari WPBites kalo ga salah sekitar 35ribu. Rasanya semacam bubble gum gitu. Unik dan dilengkapi dengan cream cheese yang selalu bikin semua kue terasa lebih lezat.

Setiap awal tahun, berbagai media cetak atau elektronik akan berlomba-lomba membuat prediksi tren untuk tahun tersebut sesuai dengan tema media itu sendiri. Majalah fashion seperti Vogue akan membahas tren warna dan model busana. Media gadget contohnya Mashable membahas tren gadget dan barang elektronik yang akan dikeluarkan perusahaan-perusahaan besar seperti Apple, Microsoft, Google, dan sebagainya. Majalah interior tentu akan membahas produk interior yang akan dikeluarkan di tahun tersebut.

Tak tertinggal, Business News Daily membuat prediksi apa saja yang akan menjadi tren di dunia bisnis. Di halaman ini, terdapat 30 prediksi tren ide yang akan muncul di tahun 2012. Akan sangat menarik membahasnya di tahun 2013 ini bukan?

Hal yang menarik dari situs bisnis ini adalah banyaknya prediksi yang berhubungan dengan teknologi informasi. Berhubung TI adalah latar belakang pendidikan saya, tentu hal ini menjadi sangat menarik. Teknologi informasi yang akan semakin berkembang antara lain perangkat lunak mobile, media sosial, pembelian online, dan teknologi pengenalan perintah seperti speech recognition/voice command atau yang menjadi prediksi di artikel ini yaitu gesture-recognition. Teknologi makin menunjukkan fungsinya sebagai penambah value dalam bisnis.

Teknologi membantu usaha kecil dan menengah dalam meningkatkan penjualan dengan kepopuleran online shop. Toko online sendiri menguntungkan bagi pihak penjual dan pembeli sehingga makin sering digunakan. Teknologi lainnya adalah media sosial yang berfungsi dalam mencari informasi tentang seseorang, termasuk dalam pencarian minat dan tenaga kerja. LinkedIn dan Facebook merupakan media sosial yang saat ini populer dalam pemasangan profil perusahaan.

Tren lainnya adalah pengembangan komputasi awan dan teknologi pengenalan. Komputasi awan sangat membantu dalam penyimpanan informasi perusahaan. Mungkin ada yang belum tahu kedua istilah di atas. Generalists merupakan suatu kata yang baru saya dapatkan dari situ creativegeneralist.com, suatu situs yang dulunya merupakan situs pribadi Steve Hardy untuk menyimpan situs-situs dan berbagai hal lain yang menarik perhatiannya. Generalist (saya belum menemukan padanan kata tersebut dalam bahasa Indonesia. Mungkin generalis?) adalah sebutan untuk orang yang memiliki ketertarikan pada banyak hal namun tidak memiliki spesialisasi pada satu topik khusus.

Steve Hardy sendiri menyatakan dalam situs ini:

The blog was and continues to be about generalism and generalists, those so-called dabbling dilettantes of knowledge; those curious of everything, but experts at nothing. -Steve Hardy

“Curious of everything, but experts at nothing“. Mirip dengan definisi jack of all trades, master of none bukan? Walaupun istilah tersebut lebih untuk menunjukkan kemampuan dan bukannya minat/keingintahuan.

Sehingga dapat kita simpulkan bahwa generalist yang ada di situs ini adalah semua orang yang “tidak spesialis” karena mereka lebih suka melihat “semuanya” dalam gambar besar. Mereka biasanya pengamat dan memiliki fokus yang berbeda dengan spesialis. Mungkin bisa diibaratkan dengan dokter umum dan dokter spesialis. Generalist akan membantu para spesialis dalam menghubungkan informasi-informasi yang ada karena itulah keahlian mereka!

Kesan pertama membaca definisi tersebut, saya hanya bisa berkomentar: wow, begitu banyak definisi yang cocok dengan saya! Saya memiliki minat yang kadang jauh dan entah di mana dapat bertemu seperti manusia, seni, fotografi, psikologi, komputer, bisnis, dan teknologi informasi. Mungkin situs ini situs yang cocok untuk saya. Hahaha.

Di situs ini terdapat beberapa hal menarik, seperti daftar tautan acara-acara, buku-buku, situs-situs menarik dan wawancara dengan generalist lainnya. Artikel yang dimuat di sini juga menarik dan menambah wawasan.

Saat ini makna kata “kreativitas” sudah menyempit menjadi hanya berkisar mengenai seni (art). Padahal, kata yang diambil dari kata dalam bahasa Inggris creativity ini merupakan salah satu bentukan dari kata creative, yang berarti menciptakan, mewujudkan, atau membuat dan tidak memiliki arti khusus dalam bidang seni. Selain itu banyak yang berpendapat bahwa kreativitas merupakan bakat sehingga banyak orang yang tidak merasa kreatif lalu menyerah. Menurut artikel ini, kreativitas dapat dilatih bahkan sejak dini.

Sayangnya, pendidikan di Indonesia saat ini masih berfokus pada kemampuan kognitif yang populer di kalangan orang tua seperti berhitung, membaca, atau menghafal. Baru beberapa sekolah melakukan terobosan dalam bidang menerapkan pendidikan agar anak menjadi lebih kreatif di usia dini. Jika diibaratkan, pendidikan kreatif adalah mengajarkan kepada anak bahwa kita semua bisa menggambar hal lain selain pemandangan dua buah gunung yang menaungi sawah pedesaan dengan matahari terbit di tengahnya. Beberapa riset membuktikan bahwa anak yang kreatif terbukti memiliki kestabilan akademik dan emosional.

Beberapa cara dapat dilakukan untuk merangsang kreatifitas pada anak, misalnya dengan melakukan permainan menyenangkan. Permainan tersebut antara lain:

1. Permainan kata -> melatih anak agar melihat hubungan antar kata.
2. Permainan berpikir visual -> melatih imajinasi anak dengan cara memberikan gambar abstrak dan menyuruh mereka bercerita tentang apa yang mereka lihat.
3. Permainan menggambar -> melatih anak agar dapat menuangkan ide, konsep, dan pengetahuan melalui gambar.

Tak hanya dengan permainan, kreativitas anak dapat dipancing dengan membebaskan tugas (tidak terlalu banyak memberikan spesifikasi), bertanya pada anak untuk mengeluarkan kreativitas mereka dalam menyelesaikan masalah, dan menyuruh berkolaborasi secara kelompok. Kreativitas tidak hanya akan bermanfaat di sekolah karena kemampuan berpikir kreatif seseorang akan sangat bermanfaat di dunia profesional.

Tips-tips di atas memang dibuat untuk melatih kreativitas anak kecil, namun tidak ada salahnya bila orang dewasa mencobanya

Berbeda dengan situs-situs yang sudah saya ulas di post sebelumnya, situs ini murni berbentuk blog. Post yang ada juga bisa diakses secara acak dengan fitur random.  Kebanyakan post berisi cara-cara berpikir kreatif dan motivasi agar kreatif. 

Tanner Christensen sebagai pemilik blog terlihat sangat menyukai bidang kreativitas. Terbukti dengan adanya link creative app  yang menjelaskan mengenai aplikasi mobile yang telah ia kembangkan agar kita semakin mudah mengembangkan ide-ide kreatif. Aplikasi itu bernama Oflow.

Beberapa metode untuk berpikir kreatif dapat dilihat di aplikasi Oflow ini. Lebih dari 120 tips untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dapat diakses hanya dengan mengunduh dan membayar sebesar $1.99 di iTunes. Yup, saat ini baru ada versi untuk iOS saja.

Secara visual, mungkin blog ini terlihat membosankan karena tidak memuat banyak gambar dibandingkan situs-situs kreatif lainnya. Namun tips-tips yang ada patut dicoba (termasuk aplikasinya). Selamat berpikir kreatif!

I promised myself to post what I did in my Celup Ikat/Tie Dye class if I passed this one. I would like to post many more of my works, but I haven’t took any photo of it and I haven’t take them back from Kriya Tekstil department.

So, here they are, the mid-exam task. We have to make a tie-dye motives from 2 m x 1 m cotton cloth with at least 3 techniques that had been taught before.

The results. The first photo is the one I planned. But, when my friend Riza accidentally put the cloth in wrong way, I thought, damn, it’s much better than what I planned! LOL.

Rabu, 27 Februari 2013 lalu, saya mencatatkan di buku sejarah kehidupan untuk pertama kalinya menonton teater. Yah, tadinya saya ingin menulis hal di atas sebelum saya teringat bahwa waktu SMA dulu pernah ada tugas menonton teater dan membuat ulasannya juga. Hahaha, gagal deh.

Bersama teman-teman Informatika-pengambil-kelas-CI, saya meluncur ke Teater Tertutup Dago Tea House Bandung yang baru beberapa hari sebelumnya dikunjungi untuk Konser ISO. Pentas dimulai pukul 19.00, namun ketika kami datang jam 18.00 ternyata tempat sudah hampir penuh! Terpaksa kami mengambil di bagian-bagian sisa, yaitu di atas.

Karena pengalaman menonton teater saya sangat minim, saya tidak dapat membanding-bandingkan. Namun saya sangat suka konsep yang dipakai dan berpikir “bukankah memang sebaiknya setiap teater terkonsep seperti ini?“.

Cerita Taraksa sendiri merupakan cerita perjalanan cinta di sebuah dunia bernama Ahimsa. Dengan kreatif, tim Taraksa yang sebagian sama-sama dari SMA 3 Bandung dan seangkatan dengan saya, membuat dunia yang berbudaya dan seakan-akan benar-benar ada. Pakaian, bahasa, gerak-gerik, salam, dibuat sedemikian rupa hingga orang menyebut “tidak dapat diterka dari mana inspirasinya”, walau saya sendiri langsung teringat akan suku Indian di Amerika ketika melihat kostum penduduk Ahimsa yang berkeliling di sekitar penonton sebelum teater dimulai.

Stand makanan dan pernak-pernik pun tak lupa disediakan di area teater.

Ceritanya? 7/10. Kisah tak tersampaikan, Chiandra yang “mengubah” hidup Taraksa kemudian menghilang sehingga bisa dikategorikan sebagai manic pixie dream girl (maaf kalau sok tahu haha), dan petualangan memang formula yang hampir selalu manjur. Namun, kekuatan teater adalah penceritaan. Ide sederhana dapat begitu menyentuh jika dilakukan dengan tepat.

Teater Epik membuktikannya dengan cara melibatkan penonton, properti keren, musik apik, dan pencahayaan yang hampir tanpa cela. Saya paling suka adegan ikan-ikan Kordi di bagian paling akhir. Hanya dengan topeng dan buih-buih udara, saya langsung terbayang suatu tempat di dalam air dan ikan-ikan yang berenang-berenang. Tim Teater Epik pun terlihat sangat bahagia pada akhir pentas Taraksa terakhir ini.

Tak lupa, kami berfoto dengan pemeran, walaupun hanya dua tokoh utama: Chiandra yang jelita dan Balu yang ternyata sekelas CI juga, hahaha

Akhir kata, saya sangat berharap keinginan tim Teater Epik terkabul: Teater Tertutup Dago Tea House kembali menjadi teater seperti yang seharusnya.
